Our Mission
The mission of the Greater Springfield Dental Society is to fulfill our community responsibility by serving as the oral health advocate for our 16 county component area.
About Us
Since 1905, the Greater Springfield Dental Society ("GSDS") has been serving 16 counties in the southwest region of Missouri. The GSDS is a non-profit organization with approximately 300 members, and is a component member of the Missouri Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
The Greater Springfield Dental Society is committed to improving the dental heath of southwest Missouri residents by providing education to our members and promoting service to the community.
Throughout the year GSDS offers presentations geared to dentists and dental staff by well-known speakers, and includes an annual OSHA training. Visit our Calendar of Events to view upcoming events.
 We are pleased to be part of Missouri Mission of Mercy (MOMOM) and encourage you to learn more about this unique opportunity. Special Notice: Delta Dental is helping raise $100,000 for America's Dentists Care Foundation Missions of Mercy (ADCF) through the Cause on Facebook by donating $1 for everyone who joins the Cause.  The Greater Springfield Dental Society participates in the annual Give Kids A Smile Day program. The clinics are held over a two-day period, and with the help of the GSDS, more than 300 kids are served locally who might not otherwise have access to dental care.
The GSDS Delta Dental Scholarship is available to third and fourth year dental students in the amount of $1,500 to assist an eligible Missouri resident in completing his/her dental education who attend accredited dental schools.
Each year the Charles & Dorothy Weaver Memorial Orthodontic Grant is awarded to an individual who is in need of orthodontic care.
The Greater Springfield Dental Society has a long history of education, leadership, advocacy and service. We invite you to join us as we work together to address the needs of our profession and those we serve in the rapidly changing dental care industry.
