Get novel coronavirus information for dental practitioners at a dedicated Missouri Department of Health website.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) has established a dedicated website for those seeking more information about novel coronavirus.
This virus is much like influenza, and all precautions used to prevent the spread of flu also apply to preventing the spread of coronavirus.
If a patient presents to your dental practice/clinic who has been in Wuhan, China within the past two weeks and has developed a fever, cough or is having difficulty breathing, encourage the patient to seek care through a primary care provider.
Persons meeting these criteria also are encouraged to call ahead before going to see a doctor or emergency room to inform them of their symptoms and recent travel. Providers will work with the local public health agency or DHSS if testing for the virus is warranted. The website will be updated as additional information becomes available.
